The region is mildly developed, lush green and has mainly luxurious residences. The nearby beach is long. It has areas with gray sand or fine pebbles and a section with facilities but its largest part is pretty quiet. Within walking distance, you will also find restaurants, a supermarket, bakery, pharmacy and some other shops. Within 5 minutes' drive is the small town of Kolymbari, where you will find banks, many taverns, schools of all levels and more. The airport of Chania is approximately 40 minutes' drive.
