The location is ideal as a holiday base as it is situated between the town of Rethymnon and the southern part of the prefecture, where there are many nice beaches such as Plakias, Agia Galini and Preveli. The distance from the center of Rethymnon is about 25 minutes' drive while the nearest area with shops that sell the essentials is the village Armenoi, about 6 km away. The airports of Chania and Heraklion are about 75 and 80 minutes' drive, respectively.
