STONE-BUILT HOUSE WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS

print

This is an old stone residence, which has been partially renovated. The owners have abandoned the house and therefore needs some maintenance work, although it has been maintained in fairly good condition. The restoration has retained much of its traditional character and a beautiful space was created, which is in harmony with the wild landscape of the area. The plot is very spacious and only a part of it has been landscaped. The back and northwest side of the home features beautiful, panoramic views that reach as far as the sea.

Before going inside, we find a spacious concrete courtyard that offers good privacy. The rest of the plot is divided into terraces, where there are an old wine press, troughs, a large mulberry tree and some other younger trees. The house is divided into two independent areas that are connected through the courtyard. The main house is divided into three large spaces with two lofts, plus a kitchen with a wood-burning oven and a bathroom. In the secondary building there is another spacious open plan space. The property can be configured according to your taste and needs. The two areas can easily be joined or you can keep them independent and use the secondary as a guesthouse or construct an independent studio. The existing layout allows you to have one bedroom in each loft, one in the guesthouse and one quite large in the main ground floor spaces. Outside the home there is another WC.

The region has seen growth in tourism over the recent years, mostly because of the nearby beach Seitan Limania, which is about 4 km away and has become very popular, both with local residents and tourists. In Akrotiri, there are many more famous beaches, such as Kalathas, Stavros, Marathi and many others, which are within a radius of up to 20 minutes' drive. The village has a mini market and a cafe. There are also a pharmacy, a supermarket and many shops in Kounoupidiana that are approximately 15 minutes away. The center of the city Chania and its airport are about 25 and 10 minutes’ drive, respectively.
