Aspri Limni (White Lake) is located just outside of the village of Moni Chrissoskalitissa and about 5 km from the cosmopolitan beach of Elafonisi. If you don't have a map, in order to get here, you will have to follow some tiny road signs that lead to the protected biotope of the region. The beach is surrounded by a rare palm forest and some cedar trees. A beautiful lagoon is formed here, which is separated by rocks from the sea and is completely protected from the bad weather.
The lagoon resembles a lot to a lake, as the seabed is covered with algae and the surrounding sand is constantly moist. The waters, however, are transparent and crystal clear. If you walk a few meters southeast, towards the opposite side of the lagoon, you will find a good and remote place to place your umbrella and stretch your towel. Even if you don't want to swim here, it is definitely worth combining your swim in Elafonisi with a stroll up to Aspri Limni and a walk in the picturesque palm tree forest.
