Loutro Beach near Sfakia, Chania, South Crete

The port of Loutro is situated west of Chora Sfakion in an enclosed and sheltered cove. The easiest way to get here is, either by walking from Sfakia for about 1.5 hours along the coastal path E4, or by catching one of the boats that get here from Sfakia, Sougia or Paleochora. Due to its isolated location, Loutro is an ideal holiday destination for those wishing to escape the hectic pace of the city whilst still having all the facilities you need.

The village has two exceptional pebbly beaches with crystal clear deep green water. We strongly recommend that you also explore the surrounding coastline by renting a boat or one of the many canoes that you will find on the beach. Moreover, the area is ideal for hikers with many interesting places to see. Among others, you may visit the tower of Loutro, Aradena gorge, the village of Anopolis and many nearby beaches such as Glyka Nera, Perivolakia, Timios Stavros, Lykos, Foinikas and Marmara.
