TRADITIONAL VILLAGE HOUSE WITH A GARDEN
It is an old stone house, which is located in a picturesque village south of the Gulf of Kissamos. It is accessible by a cobbled alley. They are two properties that are available for sale together and are separated by the path that leads there. One property is 96 m² and is occupied by the house, which is arranged over two levels. Just opposite, a beautiful garden has been created on the second property, which is 94 m². The plot with the garden is buildable while empty as it currently is, ensures beautiful views from the house that reach the sea.
The house is bright with frontages to the west and east while there are two entrances from the ground floor as well as an additional one from an external staircase that leads upstairs. The main spaces are located on the first floor, where we find an open-plan living-kitchen area as well as two balconies, to the west and east, each of which has impressive views of the wild landscape that surrounds the village. On the ground floor we find three bedrooms, one of which has its own bathroom as well as an additional bathroom for the rest of the house. The building dates back to 1881 and there is an inscription with the year of construction on the door frame of the upper entrance. It has been renovated with complete respect for its local character and ensures an authentic way of life.
The village has just 60 registered permanent residents and a mainly local population. Within a short radius there are countless villages that are worth exploring, with many traditional taverns and cafes. The area is covered with olive groves and is suitable for hiking and alternative tourism. In about 15 minutes’ drive are the villages of Drapanias or Kaloudiana, where you will find everything you need for your daily living while for anything else you can go to the small town of Kissamos in about 20-25 minutes. The city center of Chania and the international airport of the prefecture are about 45 and 55 minutes’ drive, respectively.
