GROUND LEVEL WITH A GARDEN AT THE VILLAGE FRINGE

The property is in a traditional village of Rethymnon. It is one of the big villages of the area and has about 400 permanent residents. In its center there is a square a few steps from the property while there is also a cafe. The property consists of two individual sections, which are separated by a road. The house is located on the one part on a 104 m² plot while just opposite there is a bare plot of 90 m². A cobbled alley reaches the point, from which a car can pass while there is also space on the plot of the house, where you can park in a private area. The square of village is only 40 m away and, if not on the opposite part, then you can park additional vehicles there.

The building is ground floor, "L" shaped and needs repair. It consists of just two rooms. In one there is an old wood-fired oven, which can be removed if it is necessary for the functionality of the house. The second is quite large and in its center dominates a large stone arch. Inside, there are traditional "katoi", where the domestic animals of the family were kept and lofts above, which can be configured for alternative uses. The house is on the edge of the village and on a spot, from where it offers excellent views. Both parts have a building ratio of 1 upon their land and allow you to extend the existing building, as well as build a comfortable additional house on the free plot.

The village is picturesque. It is surrounded by forests and greenery and has a very active cultural club. Within 10 minutes' drive is Argiroupolis, which is famous for its running waters. Here, you will find famous taverns with traditional cuisine as well as everything else you need for your daily living. The village is on the way to the southern coast of the island but not on the main road. In this way it remains lively all year round and you avoid the summer tourist traffic. The centre of Rethymnon is a 45 minutes' drive away, Chania International Airport approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away and Heraklion Airport 1 hour and 40 minutes away.
