AN EASY-TO-REPAIR PROJECT IN TRANQUIL VILLAGE
The house is located in a picturesque village of Apokoronas in the foothills of the White Mountains and just 15 minutes' drive from the popular beaches of Almyrida and Georgioupolis. It is a farmhouse, in which some structural repairs have been done (coatings, roof replacement) in 2005 but further work is required in order to become fully functional. In any case, it is a building that you can easily repair or you may even stay in a part in order to improve it gradually.
The plot of the residence is L-shaped. The building is located at the back while in the frontage there is space for parking and a small garden. This space is enough if you want to add a swimming pool. Here is also the old bathroom of the house, which is external and needs replacement. The plot is fenced and before the entrance to the parking there is a metal door.
The entrance is on the ground floor and directly into the old kitchen. An external staircase leads to the balcony of the upper floor while the two levels are also connected internally. After the kitchen we find two more rooms at the back, one of which is used as a storage space and the second as a bedroom. The floor is open-plan and can be used as a second bedroom or living area. The internal layout somewhat limits the functionality but in any case the size of the house allows you to create convenient main spaces and two comfortable bedrooms.
The village has many traditional houses and has not been spoiled by the tourist growth of the area. The picturesque small town of Fres, which is about 1500 m away, has traditional taverns and some shops for your basic daily needs. Within about 10 minutes' drive are the small towns of Vamos and Vrysses, each of which has several shops, restaurants, banks, supermarkets and more. The city of Chania and the airport are about 35 and 40 minutes' drive, respectively.
