TRADITIONAL STONE HOUSE IN TRANQUIL VILLAGE
The residence is in a semi-mountainous area of the prefecture of Chania, in a picturesque neighborhood with hospitable residents. This is an old stone ground-floor building, which has been restored in 2015. It has many traditional features and constitutes a wonderful choice as you can stay in the property all or most of the year.
In the frontage of the house we find a northwest courtyard while a central stone arch dominates inside. The spaces follow the traditional Cretan layout with two "katoi", where the living room and laundry room are located as well as the "anoi", a wooden loft where there is the bedroom. There is a wood stove in the main area.
The region has many locations of historical and folklore interest as well as hiking trails in the wild landscape of the Cretan inland. It is also a good starting point for excursions to the coastal areas of Sfakia and is not completely cut off from the northern part of the island.
